Baked about 12 dozen cookies yesterday. making the Pierogi for tomorrow and going to the fish market

We combine 2 family's culture on Christmas Eve. My wife's Slovak/Ukranian Vigilia and my grandparent's Sicilian heritage
Feast of the 7 Fishes. No meats.

We break Oplatek ( Christmas wafer) and share with each other with Honey. For Peace and Health

Our Menu
2 soups---Barley with peas, Lima beans and Prunes in simple broth

Sauerkraut with Mushrooms
Pierogi
Mashed Potato
Breaded Shrimp
Scallops
Breaded Flounder
Broiled Swordfish
Calamari
Broiled Salmon
Crab cakes

Various wines
finish with Cookies, Coffee and a fine Vintage Port from my Wine Cellar

YANKEE food --two items I'll look up . My family from ALABAMA --NO stores on mountain ridge --- been years since I've eaten rattlesnake - you checked walking / entering/ leaving OUTHOUSE . Sadly after about 200 years property being sold .

Afternoon all! I was fortunate to grow up with three amazing men in my life. My grandfather Fred, who passed away in 2001. My uncle Ron, who passed away yesterday. And my father David Sr. who will be 80 in February. I hope he will be around for many years to come.
