I Met the King of Baseball Movies - KEVIN COSTNER!!!

Kevin Costner and his band played 45 minutes from my house tonight. Yes, Kevin Costner has a band. And they are pretty freakin good too! They play country/acoustic/old country. He is hands down my all time favorite actor. I love his basball movies. I bought the VIP ticket that included a meet and greet. I went early before the show and was able to get him to sign my 2 Baseball Cards and the For Love of the Game dvd jacket. I even asked if he could inscribe a famous line from the movie "Tell em Im through". Inside i got the picture with him and i had him sign his bands cd booklet. After the show i managed to get a stage setlist and my ticket signed. So overall i went 6-6!! and i got a badass picture with him. Without further ado...here i am with Crash aka Billy Chappell aka Mr. Brooks aka Dances With Wolves....

Ironically, he is a FAR BETTER director than actor. Consider his resume:

Dances with Wolves
The Postman (underrated)
Open Range (well done western like Ed Harris' Appaloosa)

Not to rain on your parade at all. Not everyday you meet an actor of his caliber. Just was throwing out my opinion.

It's great you got to meet him and get a couple autos!

If i am not mistaken i think it cost 200 million to make Waterworld and it didn't even bring in 30 million in the movies.

If I'm not mistaken, didn't he find his niche in Cal Ripken's wife too? I heard he was in a fight with Ripken because he found out Costner was sleeping with his wife during his iron man streak. I think it was the night they had a "blackout" that caused the cancellation of a game that would have otherwise ended his streak.

Seriously, - anyone else ever heard that rumor? Someone was telling me about it the other night at the Redsox game.

Very cool. I think he's a great actor. I couldn't imagine anyone else in his roles in some of the great movies he's done. One of his most recent movies "The Guardian" was real good I thought.

My favorite Costner movie? The quirky, non-legendary "Fandango."

I was in a band that took our name from a character in that movie and wrote two songs centered around odd quotes from that movie.

I have always liked Costner. He seems more like a regular guy who got into acting, someone you could have a beer with.

you should actually see the movie. it is entertaining. Watch it with a girl cause it's half chick flick but a very very good baseball movie. Well in the movie he is a pitcher at the end of his career. He is pitching his last game. And it is taking place at yankee stadium. The team is being sold to new owners and they want to trade him. He is pitching a perfect game as he is thinking about this relationship he had with the girl who he think is the 1. Make a long story short, the game is in the top of the ninth. And the GM tells him he needs to know what he wants to do, retire or accept a trade. So he signs a baseball with his answer and gives it to the clubhouse boy to deliver up to the GM. On the sweet spot of the baseball it read

" Tell Them Im Through, For Love Of the Game , Billy Chapell"

So i had him inscribe that on the dvd.

Wow, I am so jealous of you (in a good way).
I didn't have class last week due to the influenza epidemic in Mexico and instead of studying I watched two of those movies (Field of Dreams and Bull Durham).
Are those cards easy to obtain? I definitely need that Crash Davis card.
