What did you like? Being able to create another list of my collection.
What did you not like? The amount of time it took to update collections.
Did you pay for the online price guide? Never did, never will.
Did you trade on the site? Sparingly. Most seemed to over value their cards.
Did you use the checklists? No.
Are you a set collector? No.

  • What did you like? Love being able to have collections separated out by my player/team collections. Also love having the huge checklist to be able to see what cards I still need for my Murray collection.[/*:m:1fz7leui]
  • What did you not like? It used to load really slowly but they've fixed that.[/*:m:1fz7leui]
  • Did you pay for the online price guide? No.[/*:m:1fz7leui]
  • Did you trade on the site? Never.[/*:m:1fz7leui]
  • Did you use the checklists? All the time.[/*:m:1fz7leui]
  • Are you a set collector? I am but I don't use Organize for that.[/*:m:1fz7leui]

  • What did you like? To track values on certain collections as a lump total, and having access to the vast database[/*:m:29566gc6]
  • What did you not like? when the site switched over and we all left, it was more work to navigate it then it was worth the information[/*:m:29566gc6]
  • Did you pay for the online price guide? Hell no[/*:m:29566gc6]
  • Did you trade on the site? I did a few times, and it went smoothly each time[/*:m:29566gc6]
  • Did you use the checklists? Yes sir I did[/*:m:29566gc6]
  • Are you a set collector?[/*:m:29566gc6]
Yes I am

But this was all a few years ago at the latest, and other then the database, I feel the whole thing is kind of obsolete now

What did you like? The search was fast, and the system allowed fairly quick manipulation of my player checklists.
What did you not like? The database was progressively more incomplete as each year passed and Beckett focused solely on the main companies that bought advertising with Beckett. Errors were rarely, if ever corrected, and foreign and minor league sets had been abandoned after 2004 and 2006 respectively.
Did you pay for the online price guide? Rarely.
Did you trade on the site? No. Too convoluted, and there are plenty of better sites for free.
Did you use the checklists? Yes
Are you a set collector? No.

Since the new pay barrier went up, I moved all my collections to SportsCardForum's Inventory Manager. It's not as fully featured, but the checklists are broader and errors are actively corrected.

What did you like? A ton of different things. The ability to search my entire collection for cards when trying to make trades. Being able to have sets separated and quickly finding which cards I still need.
What did you not like? As of right now, there's not much. When I make trades using the system my collections don't change how I would like. As much as the site frustrates me, they've ironed out most of the problems that Organize had.
Did you pay for the online price guide? Yes, mainly for trading on the site.
Did you trade on the site? Yes, it could have been one of the best sites for lower end set/player trading had it actually worked from the start. Unfortunately the quantity of members is pretty thin which makes it rough to find wants.
Did you use the checklists? Yes
Are you a set collector? Yes

Either before or after their premium service initiative for the site. I was using it before it became a premium service.

What did you like? I like how it can help me find out what set some of the cards that are hard to identify. I like how I can manage my collection. I how I can sort by AU, GU, Ser.#, Rookie card, etc.
What did you not like? Paying for it! Also, as the changes took place, it was slow and lots of errors. But as others have said, they seem to have worked them out.
Did you pay for the online price guide? I do, but it is for my own personal gratification of having a ball park figure on the value of my collection. It also helps for those that still trade using BV. I have six months to go on my OPG subscription, but might give that up in the future and pay the $20 for use of the "Manage my Collections feature".
Did you trade on the site? Infrequently, but have made some deals.
Did you use the checklists? Yes, very helpful in finding out about print runs and variations I need.
Are you a set collector? I am a team collector. It helps me find out if I have completed my team sets.

What did you like? Ability to easily enter the cards and keep them organized in a logical manner. There were lots of things I liked but this is the one that comes to mind as I type this.
What did you not like? Cards not in their database, system running slowly for extended periods of time or just completely failing.
Did you pay for the online price guide? Used to. Might purchase for one month every six months in the future.
Did you trade on the site? Yes
Did you use the checklists? Occasionally, though only when I wanted to look at the whole picture of a set which wasn't often.
Are you a set collector? No. Maybe I'll work on another vintage set down the road but doubtful. I don't have the long term focus for it.

* What did you like? It was a nice centralized checklist that could be accessed from anywhere.
* What did you not like? The amount of missing cards from the database and not being added when proof of existence was shown. The other thing was the time it would take them to correct checklist from a prelim to an actual.
* Did you pay for the online price guide? No
* Did you trade on the site? Yes, before the new beckett
* Did you use the checklists? Yes
* Are you a set collector? No

What did you like?

As a player collector, I liked that I could make a two lists for each player. Like I have a Rusty Greer Haves list and a Rusty Greer Need list. Then when I get a card Beckett allows me to easily move that card from one list to another.

I liked that I could have the same card in more than one list if I wanted.

I liked that I could add something to My Organize in a pop-up window instead of leaving the checklist page I was on.

I like that if I let my subscription expire that My Organize is still intact when I decide to suscribe again.

I like on Beckett checklists that I can see not just individual player pages, but a page for the set as a whole. Like when I look up 1997 Score Mariners Platinum, it says "Randomly inserted in packs at the rate of one in six, this 15-card set is parallel to the regular Score Seattle Mariners Team Set. Prismatic foil printing with silver foil stamping distinguishes it from the regular set."

What did you not like?

- Some of this may be my fault for not putting the time in to learn, but I didn't feel like I had enough control over the columns in my list (what I could add/delete, move, lengthen/shorten)or how my checklists looked (aesthetics).

- I did not understand how to buy/sell/trade. I may have had issues - see below.

- For some reason a handful of random cards would appear at the end of a player list (arranged chronologically) that were not organized by year, as if the year wasn't being recognized.

- I wish there were more card photos on their site, even if the card wasn't of the exact player they could have a placeholder photo to give us an idea of what the card looks like.

- Maybe they have this, but I wish there were comments on the individual card pages about card issues that could use some explanation (like redemptions). For example, when I look up 1995 Score Alex Rodriguez Contest Redemption #AD1 it does not tell how this card could have been acquired, by what means, and the expiration. I just love crap like that.

- Seems like the checklists could have been more printer-friendly and I would like the opportunity to save my lists to my computer in a user-friendly format.

Did you pay for the online price guide?

I will buy a month every once in a while when I want to see some pricing and I update My Organize at that point.

Did you trade on the site?

Never understood it. Didn't seem user-friendly. I might have also had login issues or something that was preventing me from using it(?)

Did you use the checklists?

I use Beckett.com checklists almost every single day for seeing what cards a player has, seeing what players appeared in certain sets, for checking print runs, for figuring out the true first year rookie card issues, etc. I like in the checklists that I can organize by print run so that I can only look at rare issues.

Are you a set collector?

Nah.
