Michael,

I've always wondered about these every time you post them. The 1/3 is the Gold-Bordered Parallel /50, and the other two (2/3, and 3/3) are the regular inserts. Did Upper Deck mess up on these? There's no documented mention of there being a Gold Parallel released as one of the Buybacks. As you know, the 2003 Upper Deck Magical Performances Buybacks came from the 2003 Ultimate Collection product with 4 of the 5 inserts. Those 4 were as follows: MP2, MP4, MP7, and MP26, omitting MP24 for some odd reason. I've only ever seen a photo of the MP7 (3/3) and these 3 of MP2. Do you have a photo of the Certs that came with them? Also, do you have a photo of these three that isn't a watermarked photobucket photo?

For documenting purposes, if you have any other info, I'd really appreciate it.

Thank you in advance!

I worked at Ace Novelty, Bellevue Wa., in 1992 in the design and pre-press dept. We had applied too MLB for a license to print and sell baseball cards. We were given the OK to present a proposal of finished printed baseball cards and packaging. After we made our proposal and at the last minute they decided not to issue any new licenses because they said the market was slow with a lot of manufatuiers. What we had printed for the proposal were to be disposed of. As I was the pre-press manager I was able to salvage some of the very best of the cards and some packaging from the garbage. Over the last 32 years I have kept these safely stored away. I have recently received info that these cards may be of great interest and value especially the Ken Griffey card which I have in English and Japanese. I have taken these in to two local card shops and they are very interested and are asking pricing. I have also shown these to some on-line collectors who also show interest and are asking prices. I saw the Griffey card on E-Bay once for $899. I have also read several stories and emails from people who are aware of the cards being out their. one said he had purchased 2 Griffeys for $500 each and said he was very pleased. I personally believe I may be one of a very few who saved these cards, and I might have the largest collection. I have sold cards to private collectors on FreedomBoard. These cards are very rare and very limited editions. They are in pristine condition printed front and back.

Griffey Jr. #116 - $350.00, Griffey Jr. #376 - $350.00, Griffey Jr. #678 - $450.00, Please email me if interested.

After years of digging and many, many inquires to several OG Griffey collectors, can we finally all agree that the Autographed version of this card was never made and Does NOT Exist? No one has a photo. No one has ever owned the card, nor have they seen it, yet it is still listed on every checklist...🤷‍♂️. The same can be said about the Michael Jordan Autographed card from this set.

All of the other 15 players from this 17-Card Game-Used Bat set do exist, and that's why I'm thinking that everyone just assumed that there was a Michael Jordan and Griffey Autograph! That, and the fact that the Sell Sheet (Dealer Sheet) showcased a photo of the Griffey Game-Used Bat Autograph Card! There are many examples of Dealer Sheets and even Wax Boxes (both Hobby and Retail) that have a photo of a card that was never made.

I'd like to check this one off and chalk it up to another unannounced UD mishap.

I know there isn't much activity on these threads anymore, but I'm hoping that someone somewhere will be able to lend a hand with this one or at least point me (and many others) in the right direction. Thank you in advance.
