I already have tattoos and loved the needle or whatever they used. I am a Brewers and Red Sox fan so maybe the B logo or a quote by Ted would be good.

Having a few tattoos, 15ish, and regretting some (tattoo inside lip (beer with arrows pointing in), spiderweb on elbow etc) I never understood why people ask for others ideas. It's for you. For the length of your life. If you dont have something you really want, dont do it. You'll most likely regret it. Just my opinion.

Barcode 1992 comment made me laugh. I almost got one when I graduated.........in 1992. Glad I didn't. My buddy did. lol

Poor employee I see working Taco Bell frequently, forearm sporatically covered in stars and nortic stars. Dont think he thought it out too well. "I'll take 6 #5's and 2 #8's off the wall".

tattoos in general suck but if your going to get one only option is red sox logo or kevin millars face

It would be funny to get Kevin Millar's face tattooed on your face.

Just curious, but did you get the web tattoo in jail? Do you know the significance of that?

As for the original question...

I have 5 good sized tattoos, and although I do like them, If I had to do it all over again I probablly would not do it. And when it comes to logo or iconic image tattoos, I would strongly advise against it. It's one thing to get something personal, unique, and artful for yourself, but all too often logo/iconic tattoos loose/change meaning over time. For example, what if you were to get a Red Sox logo (the dangling sox) tattooed on your forearm. But 10 years from now the *** adopt this image as there banner...?

Anyway, just my 2.

You make a pretty good point. I know that lots of people hate Chief Wahoo and think it's somehow racicst to have that logo. The interesting thing is, these are white people who make the fuss. I have met lots of American Indians and they are fans of Chief Wahoo. One year I went to an Indian Casino on Thanksgiving night  I know, I know... and I'm wearing my new Indians cap... grandpa thought I was crazy, thought we would get shot for sure. "Actually on second though, they'll scalp us." he said. We get there and this HUGE Indian guy walks up and says "YOUR HAT." :| Just like that. Everybody thought it was really funny, because he thought it was awesome and wanted to know where I got it. But at first I was thinking "Oh crap, gramps was right...."

And yeah, it's pretty easy to take my hat off or hey, change hats, but the tat won't be so easy to be rid of. I mean, I love it now, but if people want to lynch me later in life... I might have to reconsider my position.

It was not done in jail and yeah I know what it represents. Well it has a few different meanings but.. When I got it ('92) I liked it and didn't care what others thought. But it's caused me to be involved in a few fights and a short argument with a guard in the jail cafateria that led to other issues. As a family man now, I'm kinda glad so many others have gotten one that were not AB, prison etc. so it's now looked at as more mainstream. Because I cannot miss work because I'm in jail from punching someone in the mouth. Or getting punched. :|
