Believe me though its really expensive either way. :D However, I concure with what everyone else is saying, buy graded cards. It saves you a lot of heartache in the long run!
Are you plan on selling the Mantle after you cross it over? If so, then yes I would cross it over to PSA simply because you will get a better price if you sell it in a PSA holder. Mostly due to the registery. If you plan to keep it in your PC then I would leave it in the BVG slab. However, its...
I agree with wolfman. Too many red flags in that lot. I would pass.

When I was finishing up my 55' set I was experiencing the same as you are now except I was trying for psa 7 or above. Once you get closer to completion of that set you will find that the cards that you need will show up less frequent on ebay. There were many times when I thought I wanted to do...

The question I got is what is the difference from a PSA 9 and a PSA 10? Besides, the obvious $
I would think the main point is to collect what you want to collect and in what condition you want to collect it in. I have some pre-war Braves cards that are not higher then PSA 4 or SGC 5. Of course I could save up and get a nice mid-grade T205 or T206 but instead I am more focused on 1950's...
Long time no see RC! How ya been? Hope to see you around more often!
Anyways, All I was saying is that if Mantle played for lets say for the sake of the discussion, the Senators his entire career, with the numbers he put up I would still see him having a hard time getting into the HOF. I am...
Well, ever since the Mr Mint find of 52' high numbers, that card has increased in price. I seriously doubt that the card will ever come down in price, simply because of the legend that topps dumped its 52' high numbers stock into the ocean sometimes in the early 60's. I believe that there are...
Perhaps, I am confused but I thought that Roberto Clemente died in 1972? I am just curious how he could of signed a check in 1977? Please tell me I am wrong?

@darrend505: I saw your other thread about your '54 Bowman. I have thought about collecting that set many times but I always seem to talk myself out of it. To me the set has great eye appeal and although it doesn't get as much attention as the '54 Topps set does its still a classic set in...
@ abeabe, It was difficult to pickup because of the grade I wanted it in. Also it seems like noone wants to sell that card. I ran into the same problem when I was trying to get a 55' PSA 7 Duke Snider. Some cards are very close to collectors hearts and most of them don't want to get rid of...
Just picked up my final piece to 1956 Topps PSA 7 Series 1 today. I spent a little more then what I wanted to on the card. Sometimes I just wish that the team cards were not considered part of the set. Although the back of the cards have a lot of intresting information on vintage...
Nice Rose Rookie. A classic card indeed. I have noticed the price has been steadly dropping on those for the past year or so. If you don't mind me asking how much were you set back for that one.
