Bought a Reebok Penguins Stanley Cup champs fitted hat and the damn hat is so tight, it leaves a red mark on my forehead after 10 minutes. Anyone know how or got any suggestions on how to stretch these hats out so they fit better (looser?)?. I like the Reebok NFL fitted hats because they come in 2 sizes S/M or L/XL, those L/XL reebok fitted hats fit perfect but these damn "one size fit all" hats are tighter than a *^%^&!!!

No idea if this works but i heard that if you steam it and then put it on your head it stretches it out. Like i said no idea if it works just a thought

I wear a 7 and 5/8 cap...and even then it's a little snug. Not too bad, but fits tight. So when my hair gets long, it doesn't fit too well.

I have no clue how to stretch it out other than to wear the hell out of it.

For the record, I always call your hat "One size fits small"

This is what I do, but it might not be for you because I don't mind a little "beat in" look. Some guys like the brand new pristine look.

Put it in the washer alone on cold. Take it out and immediately put it on your head, soaking wet.

Wear till dry. Repeat if necessary.

Done.

Ha, thats a perfect name for these. They are all made in China or Bangledesh and i know the average man over there isn't all that big, i always just assumed they make them to fit a smaller man. I usually wear a 7 3/4 in the new era Baseball caps. They are a lil loose at first, but after i sweat it in a couple times, it tightens up and fits just right.

Dont mind a "beat up" look at all, just want the hat to fit nicely and not skin tight that it gives you a major headache in 1/2 an hour. What do you mean by "The washer"? Like a clothes machine or dishwasher? Could you just soak it with cold water and no washer, or does it need the washer too?

I throw mine in the clothes washing machine. 8-) Works every time. Just plop it on your head when it's wet and you're all set

I have also carefully removed the tag from inside the hat. I know it seems like an insignificant amount of fabric but it does help more that you would think. Rememebr we are talking 1/8 of an inch increments in hat sizes so this little piece of fabric makes a slight difference. There is usually also some overlap in the lining. Fold out the lining and see what you can trim away. Between these two steps, I have been able to make some slighly tight hats fit well.
