Saw a bunch at the wally world last night and could not pull the trigger as the odds looked pretty steep on pulling something good. I have read some of the box breaks but how many that pull nothing dont post. Just wanted some advice. Would a hobby box be a safer bet or would a few blaster be a better deal. Thanks in advance.

I personally don't think they are, but I don't like to buy things unless I have some guarantee of a hit. It all depends on how comfortable you are rolling the dice. I bought 3 right when they came out, and immediately regretted it. I think I still would have regretted it had I pulled something good, as it was outside of my normal buying habits, although I probably wouldn't mind that regret. For about the price of 4 blasters, you can get a hobby box and be guaranteed an auto.

If you are talking about between a hobby box and a couple of blasters... go hobby...

Blasters only have non chrome autos and long odds. Michael Pineda auto is the main gem of retail.

With hobby you will do a lot better on refractors and most likely get a Chrome Prospect Auto card. Hobby also has the chance of additional RC chrome autos of guys like Desmond Jennings, Aroldis Chapman, etc. I think Andrew pulled a two autos out of at least a third of his hobby boxes last night.

I've opened a ton. I've seen a ton of breaks. It's 50/50. I've seen people pull Harper Auto and Pineda Autos...then I've seen people pull nothing at all.

I know the odds look bad, but it's not a bad break if you haven't opened any Bowman yet. But I think the packs with the best value are the Rack Packs (Value Packs) as you almost always get a purple refractor.

The blasters that I have opened have been either really HOT or really COLD. Meaning 3 Harpers, Color Refractor and an Auto, or complete junk.

THanks for the input! I was really wanting the rack packs with the purples but did not have any. Probably will go with one blaster and order a hobby box as well. Just want to bust something today that is new. Dont buy much wax just normally stick with singles.

Just bought 5. 2 Chrome harpers, 2 Bowman Harpers. .. 1 purple refractor. Nothing else.

I'm done.

The good thing is that I still have about 1/2 of my investment plus the base cards that may be worth something...

Really?
Its a long shot, but there are Harper Redemption autos in retail.
I think those outsell Pineda by a few bills.

I have busted about 15 of them, 5 autos, including a BLUE Harper auto, not much other than that.

Certainly worked out in my favor, Cleared $1K on the harper when all was said and done, and another $150 on the harpers and belts that were in there.

Definitely hit or miss. But so is the hobby. You can get 4.5 blasters for 1 hobby box. It is not like the hobby boxes are $50 each.

This is not meant to try and sway you to go back and buy them, but I bought 6 blasters the other day. I pulled a 4 Brandon Belt Chrome, 2 Base Harpers, 1Chrome Harper, 1 Topps 100 Harper, and on the last box, Orange Border Harper 016/250!!! In that same box, I pulled 1 of the 2 base Harpers as well as the retail auto Yorman Rodriguez. As I mentioned, HOT or COLD.

Just got back from walmart, pulled a Bryce auto!!!!!

Well it was the other Bryce but still cool. I have opened like 6 blasters and have yet to pull even one Harper. I have pulled
three autos though! Keep in mind that rack packs can be and will be searched, so don't even worry about them. We have seen enough Harpers coming out of retail to believe that they are definately out there. There are worse ways to
spend 20 bucks. Good Luck

I am sitting on a sealed case of Blaster Boxes. Reading all these stories about people hitting Harpers is making me want to open a few boxes....or all of them.

I didn't even bother with blasters; they didn't show up here until 10 days or so after the gravity feed boxes. I bought 25 gravity packs and pulled a Harper purple refractor; take that out, though, and there wasn't much to speak of. Best luck I've had was with jumbos; 4 autos (Mason Williams blue ref, Sale, McGee, Prospect redemption) out of 12 jumbos, and a decent amount of parallels.

My catch:

I've bought 3 Blasters.

1 base Harper, 1 Chrome Harper, 1 Bowman's Best Harper.

No refractors or autos.

WallyWorld still had about 5-6 left the other day.

Eh...
