Hi guys,

First off, a disclaimer...
Not only am I brand-new to this particular forum, this is the 1st forum I've ever joined...so please keep that in mind if I screw something up.

Anyways, I used to be a card collecting fanatic back in that beautiful '89-'98 market-flooding, over-production sweet spot era.
I've recently started going through & cataloguing my collection, and the one card that remains somewhat of a mystery to me is my '98 Showcase Perfect 10 Piazza (I picked it in a pack way back when).

I can't seem to find much of anything online (PSA, eBay, etc) in terms of historical sales, current values, whereabouts of cards from this set.

I did keyword search on this forum & found a couple of threads where these cards were discussed, but some go back years...

Can somebody chime in & educate me a bit?

Thanks,

Jeremy

Welcome to the forum....never heard of this set until now. Over on TCDB they show it as a 10 card set all numbered to /10 and no one is listed as having one over there although someone did upload a picture of the front side of the Piazza card. You? Magicpapa probably has the Griffey.

Thanks!

Yes, that's right.
10 cards in the set & only 10 of each printed.

#1) Griffey #2) Ripken #3) Thomas #4) Piazza #5) Maddux #6) Garciaparra #7) McGwire #8) Rollen #9) A. Rod #10) Clemens

I saw on one of the other threads that a member had a Rollen
Did you see the pics of my Piazza that I attached to my original post?

Thanks.
I did see that thread.
It's from back in 2008...there were some links posted in the thread back then, but none seem to go anywhere now...

This ten-card insert featured color player photography using silk-screen technology. Only ten hand-numbered copies of each card were produced, making it one of the scarcest, non-parallel inserts of the era.

  • 1 Ken Griffey, Jr.
  • 2 Cal Ripken, Jr.
  • 3 Frank Thomas
  • 4 Mike Piazza
  • 5 Greg Maddux
  • 6 Nomar Garciaparra
  • 7 Mark McGwire
  • 8 Scott Rolen
  • 9 Alex Rodriguez
  • 10 Roger Clemens
