Comments: Just when you thought it couldn’t get any crazier, Blake went and dropped 40+ points.  Blake combines extreme athleticism with incredible points and rebounds output.  For every Blake Griffin there are 100 James White’s, ok well maybe not James White-like but freak athletes none the less.  Blake does the highlight real thing and he also does the 20-1o thing.  Now he’s also doing the Stephen Strasburg thing, in that he’s making people oodles of money who believed in him during the offseason.  For example, the card above now sells for near $3,000, they sold for $500 in the offseason…you sick yet?  Because Blake is, in a good way.

Comments: Oink, the Cuban Missile’s debut was no Bay of Pigs, #1 – everyone knew about it going in – oh, wait. #2 – it lived up to expectations. As the radar guns flashed triple digits, $ signs flashed in prospectors eyes. BINs are being hit like crazy and Aroldis is the latest huge payoff for prospectors.

Comments: Are you a Matt Leinart believer?  Are you a Derek Anderson believer?  Both QBs have certainly had ups and downs in their careers thus far.  This preseason, it has been mostly down and this means one thing for John Skelton, more notoriety and a quicker path to becoming a starting QB in the NFL.  Also, if you haven’t noticed, when a guy is named the starter or there is speculation that he could become one, his cards skyrocket.  This was the case as John’s Classics Auto /99 moved from $10 to $50 nearly overnight earlier this week.  Prices have moderated some now but are still way up from where they were.
