In the 2011 NFL Draft the Dallas Cowboys went north of the Red River to snag Sooner running back DeMarco Murray. He then rattled off a few masterful performances before going down with a leg injury. After a surge in his cards, he was now out of sight and out of mind in the eyes of many collectors as his cards shrunk in value.
Then comes Thursday Night Football Opening Day Edition, and DeMarco appears to be the same force he was before the injury. 28 buy it now listings were hit during or after the game and the trend will probably continue as video of that masterful 48 yard run facing one of the toughest starting front 7′s in the NFL circulates. Anyone who has him in fantasy football should be elated as well, seeing him get stronger as the clock ran.
Showing his strong second half performance last year wasn’t a fluke was Laurent Robinson’s replacement Kevin Ogletree. His 7 catches for 101 yards with 2 touch downs as the only game on tv will definitely cause a spike in his card and fantasy value. One 2009 Contenders Autograph hit just short of $60 during the game last night.
One game in and two players showing off causing cards to fluctuate. Man, I love the volatility of football. Check out the hot list tomorrow to see if either of these guys make the list.
